AI Ready Ohio is expanding to Cleveland, and we are celebrating with a fully virtual day of AI trainings, workshops, and engagements on August 26, 2026. Every session is online, so you can join from anywhere in Ohio. Registration is required and open now at joineta.org.

Sponsored by JobsOhio, these sessions are free to attend for Ohio residents and ETA members. Credit hours you earn apply directly toward your AI Ready Ohio certificates. Take one session or take all eight. The day is built so you can drop in for the hour that matters most to your role, or stay from 9 AM through the afternoon and stack the credit. Our goal for this launch is at least 500 people certified across the Cleveland area.

The goal is straightforward: help Ohioans level up their AI skills, help Ohio businesses level up in the AI economy, and move the state from AI Ready to AI Enabled.

The schedule

All eight sessions are delivered online. Join from your desk, your home office, or anywhere in the state.

9 AM AI Basics and Intro to AI for Professionals Start here if you are new to AI tools at work.
10 AM AI Governance and Leadership Policy, risk, and adoption for managers and executives.
11 AM Mastering Claude and Claude Code Hands on work with one of the leading AI platforms.
12 PM AI Ready Ohio Virtual Town Hall Open to every Ohioan. A lunchtime conversation on where the program is headed statewide. Bring your questions.
1 PM Mastering Microsoft AI Tools Get more out of the AI already inside your daily workflow.
2 PM Navigating AI Security in the AI Age What to watch for, and how to keep your organization safe.
3 PM Using AI Agents to Grow Revenue Practical agent use cases for sales, marketing, and operations.
4 PM Getting Beyond AI Pilots Moving from proof of concept to production. What it takes to make AI stick.

All times are Eastern. Each session runs one hour, and every session is virtual.

The town hall is open to every Ohioan. You do not need to sign up for a training session, live in Northeast Ohio, or hold an ETA membership to join at noon. You do need to register, same as the trainings, so we can send your access link. If you want to hear where AI Ready Ohio is headed and ask questions directly, the door is open.

Credit toward your certificate

Every one hour session contributes to the credit hours you earn toward AI Ready Ohio certificates:

AI Explorer

For anyone starting out. Build working fluency with AI tools, prompting, and safe everyday use.

AI Empowered Professional

For individual contributors ready to apply AI to real workflows, analysis, and daily output.

AI Empowered Leader

For managers and executives setting strategy, policy, and adoption across a team or organization.

Expanded certificate pathways are coming soon.

Cannot join live? No worries. Recorded sessions will be available in the member portal, so you can take advantage of them whenever you are ready. Recorded hours count toward your certificate credit the same way live attendance does.

Who should attend

  • Professionals who want AI skills that apply to the job they already have.
  • Managers and executives responsible for AI policy, governance, and rollout.
  • Small business owners and their teams looking to compete in the AI economy.
  • Public sector, nonprofit, and education staff serving Northeast Ohio.
  • Job seekers, career changers, students, and recent graduates.

No technical background is required. The 9 AM session assumes no prior experience.

Why Cleveland, why now

AI Ready Ohio was built with JobsOhio to make AI skills available to every part of the state, not just the largest tech employers. The program piloted at Great Lakes AI Week and Future Tech Forum in 2025 and expanded across Ohio in 2026 with a goal of 3,000 Ohioans certified.

Cleveland is the next stop, and the goal for this launch is clear: at least 500 people certified across the Cleveland area. Northeast Ohio has the manufacturing base, the health systems, and the professional services depth where AI fluency turns into real productivity.

Running the day virtually is how we get there. An online format means a shift worker in Lorain, a nonprofit director in Shaker Heights, and a small business owner in Akron can all attend the same session without losing a day to travel.

The program is built in Ohio: the AI Navigator Portal by Big Kitty Labs, the curriculum through Ohio institutions and national certification partners, and delivery by a coalition of community partners across the state.
